Current Opportunity

EDR has an immediate opening at our headquarters in Milford, CT for a Sr. Geospatial Architect. Reporting to the GIS Manager, the Sr. Geospatial Architect will be responsible for the following:

  • Design and develop new enterprise GIS products that integrate with existing data schema.
  • Provide contributions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of GIS applications and GIS operations.
  • Lead product design, development, and release process for assigned projects and maintain the project plan.
  • Ensure deliverables are consistent with product requirements and expectations.
  • Provide a focal point for project problem resolution
  • Present project status and issues to management and product team.
  • Coordinate beta testing of new products and features. Coordinate product launches.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of 5 years experience in the following:

  • Developing products in ESRI geospatial platform (ArcServer, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, AML) or in Open Source geospatial platforms.
  • Working with client-server products, service oriented architectures, and web services.
  • Planning, designing, and management of integrated and enterprise GIS systems.

Minimum of 3 years experience:

  • Working with geospatial image processing and GIS.
  • Working with relational database systems, such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL server.

Preferred Skills / Experience:

  • Ability to lead and coordinate competing interests to achieve desired objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with Open Source geospatial product development.
  • Experience with Java on UNIX platform, NetBeans, SOAP, libraries, Apache Web server
