ULA Session 1 - Introduction to Leadership & Management

In this first session a baseline of knowledge is set for the rest of the Academy. Various aspects about management and positions in the workplace and how you can fit into them. Areas that are to be covered and discussed include:

Leadership & Management
- What types of roles & responsibilities come with these positions?

Geospatial Leadership Roles
- How do the best leadership practices fit into the GIS world?

Leadership Styles
- Everyone is different. Are you an Authoritarian Leader? Participative? Delegative?

Challenges for Leaders
- What are the ethics in leadership? What management skills & techniques equip you to be an effective leader
